Simple and in Season May Community Blog Event

May 8, 2013

Hooray – Simple and in Season is two year’s old! It’s amazing to think that the very first recipe link-up was in May 2011. Thank you so much to everyone who has joined in and taken part – I’ve really enjoyed building a seasonally inspired like-minded food community through the event – long may it continue! Thank you too to all my guests hosts this year and for all your kind words, recipes and comments.

To celebrate, this month I’ll be giving away a lovely new cookbook – The Great British Farmhouse Cookbook (Yeo Valley) by Sarah Mayor published by Quadrille Books.

So, what is Simple and in Season?

Well, Simple and in Season is a rolling monthly blog event that anyone with a blog can join in with and contribute to.  There is no ‘set’ season – you can add recipes or stories about anything that is in season local to you. Maybe you’re planting a new vegetable garden and want to tell us how you’re getting along, maybe you’ve created or tired a recipe using local seasonal produce, something you’ve spotted on offer at the supermarket or from produce you’ve picked up at the local farmers’ market. The aim is to highlight food that’s in season and to promote eating good, fresh, non-processed, home-cooked produce.

There will be a round-up early in June. Have a look at April’s round-up for more inspiration here.

What a lovely idea to have a seasonal linky fir recipes. We have been cooking with wild garlic on the farm so I’ve linked up for the first time. Delighted to find you.
