So far, it has to be said that the weather in the UK has been dismal. I have been hugely excited about our ‘Summer of Sport’ getting underway and have been waiting for it to really get into full swing, but it has been a little bit like a damp firework that has failed to go off!
This is all about to change!

After the excitement of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in England, I feel there hasn’t been much mention of any food worthy of winning an Olympic Gold! I have spotted a couple of baking events, but nothing in the way of sustenance or ‘snack food’ to keep us entertained while all this sport is going on! My plan is that if we get behind our Summer of Sport, the fair weather will emerge and the sun will start to shine brightly.
So, perhaps you are going to be watching the Wimbledon tennis, in which case, a glass or two or Pimms might make an appearance…
Or perhaps a lovely bowl of fresh Strawberries and Cream will hit the spot while you take your seat on the sofa…
Or maybe, you are working your way up to serving some tasty hot dogs for more football matches during the Olympics…
Better still, you might be venturing out to watch the Olympic games or another summer event and are taking a picnic, or attempting some world food, or making some snacks from your own country…there are over 230 countries taking part in the games!
