This is a personal blog, written by me – Ren Behan.
I am happy to be sent products or samples for review on my blog, as long as they are relevant to food, cooking, seasonal or family friendly eating.
Sending me a product or book for review does not guarantee I will write about it. If I like it, I am likely to want to share my thoughts and opinions with my readers. If I do not like it, I am more likely to decide not to write about the product/book/box of chocolates/packet of crisps and slate them. HOWEVER, in any case, I will always give my honest opinion, and my opinion will not be jaded or influenced by any form of compensation.
As a blogger, I have a duty to let my readers know if I have received any cash or ‘in-kind’ payment (including a product or services for review) because I may be deemed to be an “endorser.”
Disclosure Policy –
1. Review Copy or Free Sample
Example: “Review/Sample – I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above (OR the product or sample will be named) for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog.”
2. Sponsored Post or Giveaway
Example: “This is a “sponsored post or giveaway.” I have been compensated by payment, gift, or a product of value to write it.”
I only recommend food/products or services I use personally and believe my readers may be interested in. In most cases, a sponsored post is where a brand wishes to guarantee publication of specific content and may provide written content or photographs. N.B This is different from a review post where I will chose whether or not to write about the product sent to me.
On occasion, I will feature a Guest Blogger, because I feel they have something useful to share, not because they want to promote their new dental practice.
I am happy to develop recipes based on a theme, set of ingredients or a specific product. Please contact me directly about this.
I have tested recipes for a number of published cook books – please contact me if you would like me to test any of your recipes.
Wherever I feature a recipe directly from a cookery book I am reviewing, I will always ask the publisher for permission to post the recipe.
If I have simply cooked a recipe from a book or magazine in my existing collection that I have purchased or found on-line, I will state my source, giving credit and linking to a relevant site AND I will write the method in my own words.
I also write and develop recipes myself. Please ask me if you would like to use any of my recipes.
