Hello and a Happy 2016!
Yes, I’m going to start the year by sharing a predictably healthy recipe…but it is one of my favourites. It is especially for all the beetroot fans out there…and yes, I know there are many of you. My Beetroot and Kale Soup is served with an Almond Crumble (which you whizz up separately) giving the soup a nice textured garnish, packed with even more nutrients.
I have mentioned this recipe before and it was also featured recently in Blogosphere Magazine – thanks to Jeanne of CookSister for selecting to feature it alongside Sarah of Maison Cupcake’s recipe. I’m sharing it again only because I am using a new recipe plug-in called Simmer (a feature of a lovely new Genesis theme called Dear by Shay Bocks) and I just wanted to give it a whirl before sharing any new material.
2015 was an exceptionally busy year for me, both at home and on the work-front. In September, we started a house renovation project, which filled us with equal measures of fear and excitement. It’s going really well, but it did involve much de-cluttering, moving items into storage and a temporary re-home! However, this is the culmination of our five year project and so it will be well worth it. I hope to share some photos soon.
I’ve also been busy with some writing work away from the blog and I also squeezed in a very inspiring trip to Warsaw, which I’ll be telling you all about soon.
As well as getting to know my new blog theme here, I’m also having a general tidy-up of blog posts and recipes – an online declutter, if you like, along with trying to get to grips with a new laptop after grinding slowly to a holt with my old computer (on which I had blogged for almost five years!) So, there are lots of changes afoot and I hope you can bear with me.
Hope you had a very enjoyable Christmas and New Year break – share your stories with me in the comments below.
