Simple and in Season August – Back Home

A slightly delayed start, but Simple and in Season is back home for August. Thank you so much to Urvashi at The Botanical Baker for guest hosting in May, Laura at How to Cook Good Food for hosting in June and to Fleur at Homemade by Fleur for hosting in July. All three events were extremely popular with tons of seasonal produce being showcased. An unexpected bonus of having such lovely guest hosts was that lots of new bloggers entered and so now our Simple and in Season family is a bit bigger!

So, August I think will be a superb month for produce – in the UK, after a very cold start to the summer, we’re starting to see kitchen gardens and allotments wake up a little bit more. I love rumaging around the brambles (particularly when I’m in Wales) for wild fruit such as blackberries as well as making lighter dishes with fresh vegetables such as broad beans, runner beans and courgettes. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in season in your part of the world.

As usual, link up below:

1. Blog about your seasonal produce or recipe before 31st August 2012

2. Add a link to this post and/or use the Simple and in Season badge (on the right hand side bar)

3. Add the URL link to your post to the Simply Linked widget below

4. If you tweet about your entry, I will re-tweet any that I see.

If you’ve been overtaken by the London 2012 Olympics, don’t forget that I’m also hosting a ‘Sporting Snacks’ event also open until 31st August 2012. You could win a lovely Hotel Chocolat Prosecco hamper and there have been some really fun entries already to go an explore!

I’ll be back to more regular blogging very soon – the summer holidays have been packed full of fun with the children and I’ll have plenty to share once the craziness dies down!

What summer adventures have you been having?
