Let’s Make Christmas at Fortnum and Mason – Thank You!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Have you noticed the snowflakes falling on Fabulicious Food? Thank you to my clever husband for making my blog look lovely and festive.

Since returning from France I’ve been a little bit behind on posts, but bear with me, I’m getting there. I’ve been wanting to write about the Let’s Make Christmas Bloggers Meet-Up at Fortnum and Mason for a little while now.  Firstly, to say a  huge Thank You to Vanessa Kimbell for her amazing organisational skills, enabling over 40 bloggers to gather before Christmas to share home made gifts at Fortnum and Mason with tea and mince pies. The event was a great success and Vanessa has promised to organise more of the same, so if you are a blogger, look out for more Let’s Make…events! It was a really enjoyable occasion and it was wonderful for us all to be able to meet and recognise some new faces as well as catch up with old friends.

Thank You also to the very lovely Dan Lepard for judging our gifts (a little competition spiced things up a bit!) and to everyone who kindly looked after us all at Fortnum and Mason and to those who sponsored the winning prizes in each category.

Finally, another huge thank you for the gifts I got to keep – to Kate from Turquoise Lemons for her Christmas Cranberry and Apple Chutney and Sarah from Sarah Bakes for her Basler Läckerli (spiced honey cookies) and Heidi from Heidi Roberts Kitchen Talk for bringing them home for me.  We loved the Swiss cookies and have also really enjoyed eating the Christmas Cranberry Chutney in filo-wrapped brie parcels.  It was too good to save so I’ll be making some more for Christmas Day! I was sad not to be able to chat and catch up with everybody properly, please don’t think me rude, we had tickets for a show that I had to dash to get to.

For the mammoth round-up of all the gifts that were made and brought along see Vanessa’s post, including a list of the winning gifts in each category.

There’s still time to get making and baking for your loved ones!  To help you along, Vanessa has also written a post called The Ultimate Guide to Making Your Own Christmas Gifts – which also includes links to all the Let’s Make Christmas entries.

In the meantime, I’ll leave you with a few photos from the day…
